Community Midwives attend our antenatal clinics and run antenatal classes. They also attend mothers for a few weeks after baby is born.
District Nurses provide general nursing care and assessments in the community to house bound patients and in the surgery for mobile patients. They can advise on aspects of nursing care, twilight (night) nursing and provide some aids for the disabled and incontinent. They undertake treatment room responsibilities for dressings, ear syringing, venepuncture, removal of sutures and vaccinations. They can be contacted on their own direct telephone line/answer phone (01253 956992).
Health Visitors are fully qualified nurses with specialised extra training in preventative health care. They can give advice on health care, particularly for expectant mothers, small children and the elderly. They run weekly baby clinics and immunisation sessions in the Practice. The Health Visitors carryout three year checks and hearing tests. They can be contacted via the surgery or their own direct telephone line/answer phone (01253 956567).
